• How do I book?

You can fill in the enquiry form on our website with your party or event details. We’ll get back to you with our availability and email you our Price List along with booking T&Cs to provide a quote for your event.

• When is my booking confirmed?

After receiving your quote and reading our T&Cs, simply let us know if you’d like to go ahead with the booking and arrange payment of the non-refundable deposit.

Your event date will only be secured once the deposit has been paid.

The remaining balance is due on the day of the event. Payment can be made via bank transfer or cash on arrival.

• What happens if I cancel?

We understand that life happens and plans can change. While the deposit is non-refundable due to administrative costs and holding your event date, we are always happy to help where possible.

If you need to reschedule, we will do our best to move your booking to another available date within the next 3 months, subject to availability.

• What happens if Character Party Hire cancel?

If for any reason Character Party Hire needs to cancel your booking, we will offer a full refund or provide a credit to be used toward another date.

• What should I expect on the day?

We’ll confirm the run time for your event and ask how many children will be attending so we can plan accordingly. Please provide the most accurate number possible close to the event date—we understand numbers may change on the day.

We offer 1.5 hours for smaller parties and 2 hours for larger parties.

We typically paint 10–12 children per hour, including detailed face painting with glitter.

We bring our own table and chairs and simply require a level setup area that is protected from wind, rain, and direct sun.

During summer, adequate shade is essential and indoor, air-conditioned venues are preferred where possible. During winter, face painting cannot be performed in the rain, so indoor bookings take priority.

That said, we absolutely love outdoor and park events when weather conditions are suitable 🌤️

• Can you cater to large events?

Absolutely! We have experience at large events including Christmas parties and festivals. We’re happy to create a customised face painting and balloon twisting menu tailored to your event.

• Can you travel out of Perth?

Yes, absolutely. We are happy to travel and love being part of regional events. Please contact us directly to discuss availability and options, as a travel fee will apply.

• How does travel fees work?

We’re based in Thornlie and don’t mind travelling up to an hour for events when it fits our schedule. A travel fee may apply depending on the distance and travel time.

• Are your products safe?

We only use FDA-approved, skin-safe products from reputable brands such as TAG and Fusion, and we always follow proper hygiene practices.

Please let us know if your child has sensitive skin or cosmetic allergies—we’re happy to do a small patch test or paint on the arm instead.

For skin comfort and safety, we do not recommend allowing face paint to be worn for a long time or sleeping with face paint on.

• How do I remove face paint?

We recommend using mild soap or a gentle face wash to remove face paint. Lather the soap into the paint with warm water first—this helps break down the paint, making it easier to wash off.

​

• Do you come in costume?

Yes, we do! We can come to your party and provide face painting, balloon twisting, glitter tattoos, interactive games, and bubble play—all in costume! 🎉
